Relaxation

Lie down on your back
And close your eyes
     Take a deep breath
     And exhale
There's no place you have to go
There's nothing you have to do
There's no one you have to be

Relax the top of your head
Relax your scalp
Relax your brow
Relax your eyes
Feel the weight of your eyes in the socket
     Take a deep breath
     And exhale

Relax your ears
Unclench your jaw
Relax your lips
Relax the gums around your teeth
Let your tongue loosen in your mouth
     Take a deep breath
     And exhale

Relax your neck
Relax your shoulders
Relax your chest
Relax your heart
Notice what it's like to be held to the Earth by gravity
     Take a deep breath
     And exhale

Relax your arms
Relax your elbows
Relax your wrists
Relax your hands
Feel your skin slide down off your bones
Lightly wiggle your fingers
     Take a deep breath
     And exhale

Relax your navel
Relax your pelvis
Relax your hips
Relax your buttocks
Notice how light you feel
Imagine levitating a few inches above your bed
     Take a deep breath
     And exhale, gently floating back down to Earth

Relax your thighs
Relax your knees
Relax your ankles
Relax your feet
Notice the joy of just being
Lightly wiggle your toes
     Take a deep breath
     And exhale
