Bonfire Community


It was just a short year ago today,
That I found myself at this very site,
Piling the cut wood to quietly lay,
And season with the year until last night,
When friends came together from miles around,
And the music flowed through the open air,
And the spirits slowly became unbound,
Watching the bonfire burn without despair.
It gave us hope as we settled nearby,
And gathered our thoughts of how life could be,
And released them as embers to the sky,
As unique souls freed through community.
The morning after brings me to concord,
Piling the wood to season with the year,
Content at work deep within its reward,
Keeping the community we revere.
