Mother-of-Pearl
Take me, infant in a life;
Foreign matter in an oyster,
Coat me, sheets of nacre;
Loneliness and love,
Layer me, aragonite crystals;
Failure and success,
Rub me, mother-of-pearl;
Silence and expression,
Smooth me, gleams of orient;
Sorrow and happiness,
See me, iridescence;
Self-love at play,
For now I am a pearl.
