She walks
     slowly in the
distance across
     the beach toward
the sea looking
     down at her
toes pressing into
     the sand
as her jeans
     hug her thigh
brushed by
     her sandals dangling
between her fingers
     in the wind that
dances with her hair
     to one side.

He longs
     to step into
the stillness coming
     up beside her
to touch her hand
     as she turns
to smile through
     her hair settling
over one eye
     and corner of
her lips glistening
     to be kissed
by the sunlight
     while walking slowly
along the beach
     beside the sea.
